Clueless Fashion

One of my favorite girl movies is Clueless. First off, if you haven't seen it, watch it. Now.

Okay, next.

Clueless, released in 1995, is one of the most definitive movies fashion-wise of the 90's. It made the 90's fashion more bearable, in my opinion. Here are some of my favorite outfits worn by Cher and how they could be worn today.

For school, Cher goes school-girl chic in tons of plaid and girly blouses with knee-high socks.

(Isn't that such an attractive picture...)

When going out to a party in the Valley or a club with her friends Dion and Tai, Cher normally wears a slinky tank dress and a jacket weather it be sheer, or with feathers.)

Have a fabulous day everyone!

As if!

Naughty Nauticals

Since the 'big chunk' of my vacation (the two weeks, compared to each weekend at the beach house), I've been spending my quite bored days dreaming about being back in Rhode Island (and watching extremely unhealthy amounts of Glee... ;)), which made me inspired to create these beach-based outfits until I return to the Ocean State on Friday.

Smooth sailing

three cheers for the red white & blue

Happy (almost) Fourth of July, everybody!

The 4th is one of my favorite holidays, because it means that my Birthday is only four days away!
I was almost born on the 4th of July, but I decided to cook for a little while longer.

So, in honor of one of my favorite days of the year, here are five outfit ideas, ranging from subtle to Gaga crazy, to help you celebrate America's Birthday, all with their own level on the crazy scale.

Enjoy! :)

Level 1
American Subtlety
Fourth of July Post 1
I love the look of tons of crazy bracelets layered on top of each other.

Level 2
Preppy Patriotic
Fourth of july Post 2
I love the crazy tights with the Mary Janes. I originally wanted blue heels, but it blended with the tights a bit too much, so go crazy with how YOU want to express your fashion today.

Level 3
Rocket's Red Glair
I love the McQueen scarf in this outfit. Although it's a Biritish flag, it is till red, white, and blue. You could wrap it around your head, tie it to the bag, tie it around your wrist, or just wear it like a normal scarf.

Level 4
America the Beautiful
I love this outfit sooo much! I just love the top, the shorts, the wedges, the sunglasses, the bag, the jacket, everything!

Level 5
American Dream
Now, for the craziest outfit of the all. When I saw this top, I knew I HAD to put it in a post. It's like the love child top of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.

So, now that you've seen the options that I planned for the Fourth of July, now I want to know that YOU are going to wear on the Fourth! Comment bellow or tweet me a picture of your outfit @PaigeTalks2Much!

Trend Report 20: Color Blocking with Jeans

Hey everyone! Long time, no see!

So here it is, like promised, my re-entry back into the blogging world after a short 'blogging break'.

This post is how to use color blocking with jeans. I've had the post in my drafts for a while now, and I just can't wait to share it with you all! I had SO much fun putting these outfits together, all of the jewels and colorful jeans make me so giddy! :)

Don't be afraid to use color blocking next time you want to be bright, but tread lightly and use these tips, so you don't look like you got dressed in the dark.

I hope you all enjoy this post, and look out for more posts soon!

One way to balance out a number of colors is to go with more neutral accessories, like these nude heels and this Mulberry bag.

Another way to balance out the color blocking trend is to use the main color of the outfit in the accessories.
Using a more plaine-colored top, like this black and white striped top or this Kate 'Mouse' tee, is another way to wear color blocking without looking like a clown.

Just a quick update...

Hey everyone!

Mucho apologizes for the lack of updates these last almost two weeks. It's my last day of school tomorrow, and then three finals on Thursday and Friday, so this is just a little post to update you all, and that I am in fact still blogging, I've just been on a super-mini hiatus until school is over on Friday. Finals week is my most stressful, so I will def be better by this time next week. :)

Hope you're all having an awesome summer if you're already on break, and good luck with your finals if you haven't taken them already! :)

God Save McQueen

images courtesy of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, and google

So here is quite the over-due post that I have been putting off for the past week.

Last Sunday, I saw the absolutely amazing 'Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty' exhibit at the MET.

Let me start off by saying that it was an amazing experience that I will never, ever forget.

There were about a dozen rooms to the exhibit, and I suggest you go when you have time to really study the outfits. Also, I suggest you go early, so the wait is shorted, it is less crowded and you can have a better look.

There isn't much else to say on the exhibit, because you couldn't take pictures. But there was a lovely mini-gift shop at the end, where you could buy a book with all of the pictures from the show.

If you get the chance to see it, please do.

Trend Report 18: Boho Glam

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! :) Here's a little trend report for you all! :)
Enjoy! :)

Just because you're trying out a boho style doesn't mean you have to go full-out hemp and hippie. Boho chic is one of my favorite styles. To rock this look, wear your favorite boho dress or outfit (if you're new at the boho look, try a patterned dress like in my example) and dress it up with chic a chic bag and glittery earrings and heels, or cute wedges.

Trend Report 17: Jeggings

When I first heard of the 'jegging' trend in mid '09, when the only jeggins avalable were super overpriced, and slightly poorly-made. So, I waited a bit, and purchased a pair before they became mainstream and everyone and thier mother (litterally) were wearing them.

Here are some of my tips for rocking Jeggings without looking like you forgot your pants.

  • ALWAYS wear a long top with jeggings, or else you will get a severe case of crotch-staring.
  • Please, don't wear flip-flops.
  • Even though I put flats in this example, it is best to wear boots with jeggings, because it IS leggings fabric, it can look awkward at the feet.
  • Try to get jeggings with faux-jean accessories. Ex. Pockets, a zipper, ect.
  • Jeggings were made for comfort, so stay comfy!
  • If you wouldn't wear leggings normally, don't.
  • Don't treat them like blue leggings. They are made to be faux jeans. Treat them as such. Don't wear them under a dress. Please.
  • Balance the straight-legged look with a top with a touch of flare, and classic pieces.
  • When picking out a top, remember: If it doesn't cover your crotch area, don't wear it.
  • Remember, most of all: They may LOOK like jeans, but they are still leggings. Don't wear them everyday like you would your jeans. It's gross.

Trend Report 13: Stripes

Today's trend is... Stripes!
This rainy weather is really making me want summer, and summer always reminds me of stripes.
Stripes are a really casual look to just throw on with a tee shirt, or a nice spring dress. Here's my example of an 'everyday' stripe look. But if you're going out, law a little low on the jewelry. lol Enjoy!

Glamour In A Bottle

One of my all-time favorite styles is glamour, and Luisa Beccaria, a brand I recently discovered, defines glamour to a T. Here are a few of my favorite pieces from their Fall 2011 collection. I love the kind of ‘hippie headbands’ that go with the 70’s style dresses.
